Hello. : Hello. I do not know the cause of your pain. I am not certain of the location. With a long history of smoking, if your symptoms have lasted very long, it would be worth being physically examined. This would be especially true if you have had changes in your voice.

No idea: But sounds like you need to see your pcp for an examination, and probably need referral to an ENT specialist who has the skills and equipment to look into your throat and make sure there is nothing serious going on. If there is, an ENT specialist is in the best position to treat it. In the meantime, work on smoking cessation - it's the single best thing you can do for your health.
