The : The ultimate remedy is to see a colorectal surgeon and have a same-day procedure to remove the hemorrhoids that's bothering you. If they are still small, maybe you can have a small rubber band placed around the hemorrhoid to remove it that way. Keeping your stools soft will help resolve this issue better along with sitting in a tub of warm water.

A : A thrombosed external hemorrhoid is a painful lump at the anal opening from a blood clot in a small vein. They usually resolve in a few days with warm bath soaks and you can try a pain medicine over the counter (ibuprofen, etc.). Larger external thrombosed hemorrhoids can be removed in a doctor's office. Internal hemorrhoids can be banded, but not external hemorrhoids.
