A member asked:

Is a tissue like substance normal during a period? very weird tissue like substance came out while on my period. is this normal? not experiencing any pain but this has never happened.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

A : A period is the monthly shedding of the lining of the uterus. Often it just looks like blood, but in actuality it is the blood-rich tissue that lines the uterus. If you notice clots or bits of tissue during a normal period, this is nothing to worry about. If your period is very heavy or if you are experiencing pain, give your doctor a call. Good luck!
