How long does radiesse (dermal fillers) usually last? i keep reading how it can last a year or more. but how long is normal? i don't really want to be getting injections every 2 or 3 months.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) : Radiesse lasts, on average 18 months. I have had patients where it lasts over 2 years. The shortest was 18 months. Botox & Dysport only last 3 months. Most of the dermal fillers last a year. Do your research. Radiesse is a great product-i use it regularly-but, it is not reversible. Restylane/perlane and juvederm are reversible. Meaning, if it is done wrong, they can be dissolved with another injection. Radiesse has to be physically remove. Make sure the treating doctor is well versed on injecting radiesse.

Radiesse (dermal fillers) : Radiesse (dermal fillers) durability depends partially on where it is placed. More mobile areas of the face general lead to faster reabsorption. In general most people will find that their Radiesse (dermal fillers) injection will last from 12-18 months and even longer in less mobile regions. Radiesse (dermal fillers) leads the body to produce extra collagen in the treatment area which gives an even more durable volume enhancement.

If : If you have been treated with hyaluronic acid fillers in the past (juvederm and Restylane (dermal fillers) are common names) you will see longer results with Radiesse in general. This is a great filler to act as a scaffold for the skin. When placed to enhance the cheek bone region it also "up-lifts" the folds around the nose and mouth called smile lines (nasolabial folds). I have patients that go well over a year before any additional Radiesse is provided. Now, if you are trying to smooth out the nasolabial lines or marionette lines the results don't last as long. This is because there is quite a bit of muscle action and we still have the effects of gravity and the loss of elasticity of the cheeks. But in general i get about 6-8 months even in these more active areas. Good news is, Radiesse does promote your own collagen to fill in the space so the number of injections does reduce with time.

That : That is a good question. The latest studies are showing significant improvements at one year, and even improvement at 5 years compared to other fillers. The duration of artefill is much longer than other fillers. Risks are local swelling, infection, or migration, which are rare complications.

Depending : Depending on injection location the results normally last about a year in my experience. It would be very unusual to need injections every 2-3 months with radiesse (dermal fillers).
