Hi, : Hi, i don't think anyone can tell you how much faster you would lose weight if you were not stressed. I think it is great that you have been making healthier food choices and that you are walking. Chronic stress can impact your metabolism as well as your eating choices (i.E, stress eating or comfort foods). I don't know if you are on medication or in therapy right now. Clearly, having a good therapist and a good psychiatrist to help get those symptoms under better control would be helpful. Have you thought about working with a good nutritionist? I would try not to focus too much or get too upset by the fact that being stressed might impact your metabolic rate. Instead, i recommend focusing on having as healthy a life style as possible so that that your physical, emotional and spiritual health can become balanced. Take care.

Yes: stress causes increased cortisol which packs on fat around your midsection. reducing stress will be key for wt loss. Meds may help, start with 3000mg eFA(fish oil) and good MVI-true balance by Now is good, 400mg bid magnesium gluconate or citrate and increas exercise 30min a day of walking would be good . removing sugar, and High fructose corn syrup from your diet would be good to start.
