Not : Not all cardiologists have the same protocol. Usually a person does not need to make repeated visits to a cardiologist if they have good cardiac health. Repeat ekg's can show changes in heart function since last seen. I would ask your doctor what his or her plan is. I think it is very important for a patient to be involved in their own treatment plan.

No: Ekg gives different information than stress test . Generally speaking you will not need an ekg everytime you go to doctor's office. If your stress test was normal, you will not need another one in the next 1-2 years, if you don't have any symptoms. Stress tests are usually considered valuable to provide risk assessment for 1-2 years.
