A member asked:

Why have it been so uncomfortable when i have sex on the mirena (levonorgestrel) since 2010 but never had discomfort before until these couple of weeks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Discomfort : Discomfort during sex can be caused by irritation to the vagina or vulva and insufficient lubrication. Hormone levels can change the bodies own natural lubrication amounts. Try to use additional lubricant which may help. A different position may be more comfortable. If a patient had continued pain or swelling then they may need an evaluation.
