A doctor has provided 1 answer

Knee : Knee pain can be caused by a variety of causes. In patients who have had a prior injury, such as sports injuries, ligament (acl, pcl) problems can be a concern, as can meniscal or cartilage injuries. In older patients, arthritis can be a cause. There are some knee problems that are caused by congenital issues such as patellar tracking problems. If knee pain is persistent; is limiting activity; if the knee is locking or giving way; or if the knee is swelling and tender then the patient should be seen for an evaluation so that the cause of the knee pain or instability can be determined.
