It starts in the brainstem and wanders throughout the neck, chest, and abdomen to control a variety of organ functions. The symptoms you are describing are more typical of a heart attack. Any abnormal heart rhythm should be evaluated immediately in an emergency room. Even something like atrial fibrillation can cause blood clots to the brain (a stroke).
