As : As this is new and sudden you need to see a doctor for an evaluation. The possibilities include cardiac pain (cardiac (heart) pain is typically more in the chest but can radiate to the left shoulder and neck, and is sometimes associated with shortness of breath, palpitations, and sweating), pain from an artery in your chest (this pain is usually sharp and stabbing and predominantly in the back), lung causes (usually pain is worse with deep breathing), muscular pain (can come on for no apparent reason, is usually worse with movement, relieved by holding still), nerve pain (usually pain radiating down the arm associated with numbness), or several other possibilities. As this is new and you sound very painful please be seen by your doctor. If your doctor can't see you immediately or if you develop shortness of breath, feel light headed, sweaty, or new symptoms then you must go to the er.
