After surgery...: For lung resection done minimally invasively, we ask you not to lift anything greater than 20lbs for 1 month, if done with thoracotomy, then 2 months. Don't drive if still taking narcotics. Be active, don't be a couch potato.

4-6 weeks: From lung cancer surgery 4-6 weeks. You may need more time if you need further treatment with chemotherapy and or radiation treatment.
