Yes: Metastatic cancer in the hip can be treated with radiation, surgery or both. However, this will not cure cancer elsewhere in the body.

No: There is no cure for lung cancer that has spread to the hip. Once you have lung cancer outside of the chest, you have metastatic disease, stage iv, which is considered not curable. It is treatable. So the hip can be treated with surgery, radiation or chemotherapy that may improve your symptoms. But the likelihood of curing lung cancer at this stage is very small.

Fix vs. Cure: If lung cancer travels to the femoral head/acetabulum, surgical replacement of the destroyed and painful bones fix a mechaical and medical problem; however, the cancer is not cured, and likely is active at other places in cluding the lung and other bones. I hope this helps your understanding.
