Chest : Chest pain can be caused by blood clots (pulmonary embolism), abnormal enlargement of arteries in your chest (aortic dissection), cardiac pain from coronary artery disease, inflammation of the lining of the lung (pleurisy), stomach causes (gallstones can cause chest pain as can ulcers), muscle spasm, esophageal spasm, and collapse of the lung (pneumothorax). Any chest pain needs a medical evaluation. If you are having chest pain, shortness of breath, fever, or feel light-headed or faint, then you need to go to the er.
