Sharp chest pain: Yes, you should go to the nearest er and see your physician. These symptoms must not be taken lightly as they may suggest serious medical conditions like heart attack, aortic dissection, blood clots in the lungs, atypical chest pain from gerd seems less likely. Further work up is necessary to exclude serious conditions.
