Microdermabrasion : Microdermabrasion does not work very well for active acne. It is much better for acne scars. Therefore you may try another treatment to help clear the acne up (i.e. An antibiotic like Doxycycline or a medication called accutane). Once the acne has cleared, microdermabrasion will work well for the scars

Microdermabrasion: In the presence of active acne the cosmetic procedure recommended is microdermabrasion rather than dermabrasion. Either a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon usually performs this procedure.
