I : I am wondering if you are referring to probiotics. Probiotics are particular strains of bacteria that patient's use to build up the "good bacteria" in their bowels. There are a huge number, millions, of bacteria in our bowels, and the thought is that if we build up the "good", or beneficial bacteria, that it will aid in digestion. Several small studies have shown benefits to probiotics, with some patients showing improvement in their GI system with use.
