You : You mentioned that the sore spot developed. Did it occur over a period of time, or immediately after you ate something hot? How long have you had it? Has it been getting worse? Burns will heal themselves rather quickly. Have you been to a dentist for an exam? Do you smoke? Do you use chewing tobacco? Oral lesions can be serious. If this is not a burn you need to have it diagnosed and treated quickly. I suggest you have it looked at and diagnosed by professional.

The : The problem with using orajel on your tongue, is that it will quickly be washed away by your saliva. My advice is to take tylenol (acetaminophen) or advil, suck on ice cubes or drink cool water. Lastly gargle with warm salt water, which will help it heal faster. Best of luck, .
