Your : Your most fertile day (the best day of the cycle to have intercourse) is the day before ovulation. That is why providers usually recommend having intercourse on the day of a positive ovulation predictor kit (even though you will most likely ovulate or release the egg 24-36 hours after a positive ovulation test). This is because the egg is most likely viable for only 12-24 hours after ovulation but sperm has been found to be viable in the fallopian tubes up to 72 hours after intercourse. In general - the best timing is having intercourse before or near ovulation so that sperm is there waiting for the egg when it ovulates. Timing of ovulation and conceiving is not an exact science and ovulation can occur outside the 'fertile week.' the most direct answer to your question is 'yes' you can get pregnant 4 days after your fertile week. I hope this helps!

The : The egg is only viable for about 18-24 hours after ovulation (ivf experience). However, ovulation can occur outside of the "normal" fertile period. Additionally, the sperm live in your body for about 2-3 days reliably, but we know they can survive much longer at times, even a week or more based on special case studies. Taken together, most women/couples are safe to believe that they have a rather narrow window. But we know from experience that natural family planning has a very high "failure rate" as a contraceptive (about 25%). You could get pregnant 4 days after your fertile week but mostly because your fertile week can vary from when you think you are in your fertile week, if that makes sense. I hope this helps you understand a bit better. Good luck.
