You : You may be perimenopausal. Perimenopause is also sometimes called premenopause. You may have irregular periods, heavy periods, light periods during the time before your periods stop altogether. You may want to discuss this with your gynecologist.

See below: Agree with Dr. F. If you had sex since your last period, you should do a pregnancy test. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully.
If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
Practice safe sex.
Take oral iron and multivitamins to prevent anemia.
