is it safe to take namenda (memantine) while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Possible: Cat b, no animal studies to show risk or not enough information. How often will an alzeheimer rx be used in preg or nursing? I'm sure case reports are nonexistant.

Safety: Inadequate literature for safety in first trimester of pregnancy and lactation. I would say that it should be held during these periods.

Yes and no: Neurontin is approved for it. But Namenda (memantine) has no fda approval for nerve pain.
