20 to 40 mg daily: Prozac (fluoxetine) used in depression has doses at 20 to 40 mg daily. For obsessive compulsive disorder it may have to go up to 60 or 80 mg. The same applies to anxiety disorders when used as the only medication for the anxiety. When used for anxiety (especially if benzodiazepine addicted) Prozac needs to start at 10 mg daily or anxiety could be exacerbated.

Depends: Depends on person illness etc I have pts getting along on 10mg & others who have to have their 80mg doses augmented with other meds.
