Avoid : Avoid anything constricting your knee at night. As a rule of thumb you should try to avoid ace bandages and the like as they may contribute to the development of blood clots on your legs which can go into your lungs and kill you. Icing, leg elevation and assistive ambulation with crutches, cane or walker is the acute phase is likely to give you a lot of relief. You are a big guy and the amount of energy involved was significant. If pain doesn't recover as expected, develop progressive pain, swelling, stiffness, giving way, locking or painful popping additional testing may be needed. Best of luck.

Yes. : Yes. Leaving it on all night may interfere with venous circulation. This is aggravated by your size. Replace it not too tightly in the am.
