Everyone : Everyone feels sad or depressed every once in a while. However, it sounds like you're getting to a point where it would be useful to get some help with these feelings. It's great that you recognize that things are beginning to impact those around you--it means that you have good insight to the problem, and that's a good indicator for successful treatment. The worst thing to do is "tough it out." maybe you could see the person or people who are working with your mother. You may even know them already. If that solution doesn't work for some reason, then i would urge you to look into other mental health resources in your area.

You : You indicated that you feel depressed and overwhelmed and that you can't stop crying. You may be suffering from depression. Whether it is a bipolar depression (depressive phase of manic - depressive disorder) or it is a unipolar depression (depression without periods of extremely high energy) it is important to get professional help. If you are having thoughts of taking your own life, then please go to your nearest er. If not, i recommend that you see a psychiatrist and or/ a psychologist to be properly assessed. The previous writer suggested a way to contact a provider. Another option is to make your primary care physician aware and he or she may help you with a referral.
