If : If you are having difficulty breathing, then you should definitely see a doctor for a lung exam. Smoking harms the lungs' natural defenses against bacteria and viruses thus putting you at a higher risk for bronchitis and pneumonia. Respiratory illnesses can also trigger latent asthma made worse by smoking. The safest thing for you to do is to have an exam so you can have a proper diagnosis and correct treatment. Good luck!

Smoking and breathing: Without making a diagnosis smoking wrecks havoc on anyone's lungs , especially after 10 to 20 years. Smoking impedes the natural cleaning mechanisms of the long. It also sets of the lungs up to be more susceptible to infection. Normal course of events in this situation would be to have one's lungs listened to it as soon as possible and possibly a chest x-ray.
