I think I might have sarcoidosis, what should I look for in selecting a doctor or treatment center?

Word of mouth...: Selecting a good rheumatologist is difficult; try to go be word of mouht, referral from someone you know that uses that doctor; or you can contact your local medical society and let them direct you. Also; if there is a major teaching hospital in your area try to choose the doctor affiliated with that institution. Best of luck!

Is there a cure for sarcoidosis?

Sarcoidosis: There is no known cure for sarcoid. Historically, steroids have had some use, some newer drugs like Methotrexate and others have helped. There are some integrative methods but there has been limited success. Sometimes, after a patient has active sarcoid for a few years they will go into remisssion. A few patients have a chronic form which does not improve & needs intensive medical treatment.

Sarcoidosis: Dear jbennett,
sarcoidosis is a disease of unknown etiology which can affect almost any part of a patient's body. It is known for the granulomas it produces--non-caseating--which can form commonly in the lungs. About 50% of the patients are african or hispanic origin, there is also a large % from northern europe. It has been found that a patient's immune response creates the granulomas. ..
