There : There are several possibilities but one common condition in that location is eyelid dermatitis. The eyelid skin is quite thin and vulnerable to irritation or allergens (often transferred from one's hands). Eyelid dermatitis is typically red, slightly scaly, and often has a bit of a thickened skin look. For that condition, cool compresses combined with vaseline may be helpful. If not, i would consider seeing a dermatologist who can evaluate you and possibly prescribe a topical steroid ointment or other medications to help improve your eyelids. I hope that helps.

In : In addition to dermatitis, blepharitis is a common problem on the eyelids, and can be the underlying cause of dermatitis. Blepharitis can be related to allergies, normal eyelid/skin bacteria, or other skin conditions. Treatment is often as simple as eyelid scrubs with dilute shampoo. Sometimes a steroid ointment is also helpful. To help figure out which will work best, you should see a dermatologist or ophthalmologist. More info about blepharitis is available on my website, if you click the link below.
