A member asked:

My son has diabetes, how long does it take for him to get used to the finger sticks?

Not long: Unfortunately there are a lot of finger sticks that have to happen, especially with a new diagnosis. Most kids get used to this very quickly. You can help them by talking about the importance of monitoring their blood glucose and keeping them involved in the process. This is a good opportunity to help teach and reinforce responsibility.
