With : With a headache that severe, you should definitely be evaluated. Have you called your doctor? If they are unable to see you soon, then you should proceed to the er. You could be suffering from something miserable, yet not necessarily dangerous like a migraine or you could have something more concerning such as encephalitis or a subarachnoid hemorrhage. Better to be safe than sorry, so see a doctor as soon as you can.

go straight to ER: "the worst headache of your life" is a ruptured aneurysm, or so we are led to believe in med school. Do not wait to hear back from your doctor's office. Go to the er. Now. You would hate to get this one wrong, since any delay could cost you dearly, even kill you if an aneurysm re-ruptured.
