This : This is probably an inflamed cyst or lipoma but i would recommend that he have this evaluated to be safe and sure. Treatment options can be discussed based on the diagnosis and his situation. I hope that helps.

Lipoma: This is a fat collection that is encase in a cyst or an inclusion cyst which is usually the sweat gland of a hair follicle. It may not be infected due to trauma. If it feels like a pimple that needs to be popped, he should see his local surgeon to fully remove the cyst. The risks is that in the future it will have recurrent infections, if left alone.
