Poison : Poison ivy causes itching, and rash and sometimes blistering. It should not cause actual muscle pain.

Not ivy: Poison ivy usually causes intense itching, if your rash is restricted to one side of the body and is painful , it may be from shingles which one out of 3 people over age 60 will end up when not previously vaccinated with zostavax. If this is within the first 48-72 hours, your doctor may prescribe an anti-viral drug to hasten the recovery.
