Without : Without examining you and possibly getting an x-ray, it's difficult to tell what is going on. However, any cough that lasts more than 2-3 weeks should be evaluated by a doctor. There are many problems that could be going on - common things being walking pneumonia, bronchitis, allergies or gastroesophageal reflux but less common and more serious causes could be tuberculosis or congestive heart failure. Evaluating your other pertinent symptoms and listening to your lungs can help deliniate the cause of your cough and hopefully get you the treatment you need to feel better. Give your doctor a call. Good luck!

Walking pneumonia.: Rather than hitting you like a ton of bricks like a typical pneumonia, walking (atypical) pneumonia can present with more subtle symptoms that may linger for even weeks before you think they may be deserving of medical attention. May present with a little cough, shortness of breath, chest discomfort, fever.
