A : A bacterial vaginal infection should not keep you from having a period. You may want to re-check a pregnancy test since they only reach their 97% accuracy a week or 2 after the missed period. That being said, there are many other reasons for a missed period such as stress, poor diet, excessive exercise, hormone imbalance, etc. If you have any concerns about your infection or possible pregnancy, you should give your doctor a call.

Pregnancy test: Agree with Dr. M. You may wish to repeat the test in 4-5 days. Use first morning urine and follow the instructions for the test carefully. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD. Practice safe sex. Get HPV vaccine
