I : I would recommend sending the patient to an eye care specialist as soon as possible. It is impossible to know what the cause of the decreased vision in this case without performing an examination. I would be concerned with optic neuritis, uveitis, infection keratitis (bacterial or viral), retina pathology, or a myriad of other causes. In my opinion, patients with sudden decreased vision should be referred to an eye care specialist for evaluation as soon as possible.

The : The differential diagnosis is too long to list in this blog. They can be a benign condition like dry eyes to more severe conditioin like optic neuritis. Any sudden decrease in the vision must be seen by an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
