Never normal: Insomnia can happen as a result of hormonal and physiological changes while pregnant, but it is never considered a normal thing.

Lets say: Its not unusual but can be problematic. I would ask if you have ever had a major issue with anxiety(stress ANS worry), panic attacks, mood dysfunction ( excessive sadness or guilt for prolonged times) or any psychiatric treatment. It may be transient, it might be anxiety posing as nightime hyperarousal. Clinching teeth? Headaches?; if big problem may put u at risk pp depression. Treat if nec.
