Prior : Prior to answering your question, avvo's terms of use state, "such information should be used only as a starting point for addressing your medical issues. It is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. You should not disregard medical advice from your doctor, or avoid obtaining medical care, due to any health information you obtain on the site." without knowing your age, eating habits, body habitus (weight, bmi), complete blood count and other lab tests, past medical history, a simple "no" or "yes" answer will not suffice. I would recommend visiting your primary care physician to discuss all of these. In general, thin individuals when laying flat on their back, can see their abdominal aorta (i.e. "heartbeat" in the abdomen) pulsating which delivers oxygen to the lower parts of your body, and this is normal. However, if you are having symptoms, have a past history or family history of "heart problems", it would be wise to discuss this with your physician.

Yes!!: This might be an aneurysm. You need a sonogram or ct of the abdominal aorta pronto. I would call you doc asap to arrange it. If you get any pain from it, or it suddenly gets bigger or swollen in that area, go to the er.
