No: The insomnia may be causing the depression. If so, correcting the insomnia should take care of the depression without taking antidepressants.

Some antidepressant: Has sedating effect also and can help u sleep. Therefore, u physician will see what r u target symptoms and choose the suitable medication.

Antidep.: Not necessarily if antidepressant has sedative effect and used at bedtime, such as trazodone or remeron (mirtazapine).
