I'm taking xarelto and today started taking 500mg niacin 3 times throughout day to help combat insane insomnia i've had for 17yr - any concerns maybe?

Niacin & insomnia: Interesting! I had never heard of taking niacin for insomnia but I found many websites discussing just this use, albeit none in peer-reviewed journals. Regardless, some forms of niacin may lead to liver issues while others can cause tremendous flushing & itching. Good news is that there's no interaction btwn Xarelto & Niacin (http://goo.gl/B1QYXD). Still you should always tell your doc everything

Still you should always tell your doc everything you take, whether prescription or over-the-counter, including dietary supplements like herbs, etc.
