Can you slowly train your body to need less and less sleep to be healthy?

Nope: It's not quantity but the quality of sleep. You can train yourself to sleep less, but you can't train it to need less quality sleep.

No: There are several phases of sleep and one of the most important levels for maximum rest and renovation is delta phase. This is the deepest level of sleep in which hgh (human growth hormone) is released influencing every cell to restore and recharge. It takes time to get to this level of sleep and time to be at this level during sleep to be and stay healthy.
