Cheek : Cheek implants can be customized and/or trimmed to address your asymmetry. Besides cheek implants another option you could consider to balance out your appearance is soft tissue fillers. Soft tissue fillers can include in-office injections of radiesse, restylane, (dermal fillers) or juvederm (for example). These are all resorbable so if you don't like the look it will reverse itself with time (usually in about 6-12 months). Another option is facial fat grafting (also known as lipostructure) in which fat is harvested from elsewhere in your body (e.g. Abdomen, thighs, or hips) and then carefully injected into the areas of the face needing augmentation. The fat grafts that "take" should be as permanent as the normal fat that is already in your face. The level of dramatic change can be customized no matter the option so an in depth discussion with your surgeon is important to ensure that your goals are understood.

Custom implants: Cheek (malar) implants can accentuate the cheek bone and add volume to the mid-face. To correct an asymmetry, different sized implants can be used, but the possibility of using standard implants depends on your anatomy and the size difference between your cheeks. A more accurate option may be to use a set of custom-fabricated implants. Ask your surgeon in consultation if this is an option.

Consider: 1. Custom made implants, based on a cad/cam technique made from cat scan data. 2. Use injectables (radiesse, etc.) to customize the shape.
