Havent had a bowel movement in 9 days. what do i do? have tried laxatives as well as fiber bars, nothing is working.

It : It is crucial you seek medical attention. The constipation can be due to a bowel obstruction, which is best described by a small or large blockage in the intestines. Continued obstruction can cause a perforation of the bowels - where the fecal matter punctures the intestines. This can be life threatening. I recommend going to an urgent care or emergency room. If the constipation can not be relieved with enemas or other treatments, further tests, such as abdominal xray or ultrasounds studies will need to be performed. Get help.

Vitamin C, Magnesium: Try Vitamin C 2000 mg every hour and you should get results within several hours. Also try magnesium such as milk of magnesia 1 tbsp 2x/day. You can also try a Fleet's enema from any pharmacy. But after you get relief (or if no relief within a day of trying these) please see your Dr. to assess what is causing this; you might be hypothyroid or you could have a mechanical bowel obstruction.
