As : As you have probably guessed, your knee pain is likely due to wear and tear. It's likely that at least some, if not most, of your knee pain is due to osteoarthritis. That said, i'd suggest you see an orthopedic surgeon to get a complete evaulation and see what your options are. Good luck!

Low impact: I agree, your pain is most likely oa. Aquatics, body weight, or resistance bands/ tubing biking, and/or elliptical. Aquatics allow you to perform body weight exercises, but being in water actually reduces the stress on your body due to buoyancy. Once you are able to perform body weight activities then look to add light resistance w/ bands/ tubing.
