Honsestly : Honsestly this is a question that only can be answered by the doctor that is treating you. If you are in pain while working, then it's likely that your work may be exacerbating your previous injury. You may need a ct scan or MRI of the affected area if not already done so. You should consult your doctor before returning to work, right away by phone prior to a scheduled appointment. Good luck.

The surgery likely: didn't leave you with any significant limitations, but 15 years of repetitive parts assembly can lead to repetitive motion injury to neck muscles that aren't being utilized. Unless you followed post-operative range of motion directions religiously or exercise at least 4 times/week you are going to wind up with neck pain that may have nothing to do with the surgery.
