Why do contutions take so long to drain? i have a leg contution

Depends on size: Contusion implies a contact induced bruise. Hematoma implies a collection of blood at the site of the contusion. Depending on size of the heamtoma it may take days or weeks. Sometimes simple aspiration or even surgery is needed.
