ACDF : Acdf surgery is meant to decrease symptoms of discomfort (numbness, tingling, pain with exertion) however it may not resolve 100% of your pain. It is normal to continue to feel some pain, but pain that is not tolerable is never normal. If the pain and pressure in your neck is affecting your sleep patterns or daily life, let your doctor know. As a person who underwent an acdf, you will always need to pay close attention to your neck and spine, stay active, walk regularly and do not over extert yourself. Also, stay compliant with follow up visits and care.

Post-op neck pain: You should definitely discuss the pain with your surgeon, especially if it is worsening. A small amount of pain might not mean anything, but progressive, severe pain might indicate loosening or unsuccessful fusion or even similar problems at another level.
