The : The blood pressure may differ from the right arm to the left arm, however measurement differences over 20 mmhg should be reported to your physician. This could be related to a narrowing or blockage of the arteries in the arm with the lower blood pressure. Diabetes and kidney failure can also cause this. When there are significant differences in blood pressure, the doctor will typically follow and treat the higher blood pressure.

Coarct v cholesterol: Coarctation is a congenital defect in the main artery handling heart outflow. Depending on where the defect is it could cause different pressures from R to L. This is typically found at a young age. Something similar can happen if a plaque (which is kind of a cholesterol build up) causes a similar defect. Diet can have a huge impact on cholesterol, but talk to your doctor to see if more is needed.
