No: Well, really the answer is we don't know. There is very little known about Chantix in pregnancy. So far the animal studies done show very little risks. Chantix is not recommended in breastfeeding, however. On the other hand, smoking is a huge risk to pregnancies. If Chantix is the best way to stop smoking, it may be better for you to take it for a short time to stop smoking.

No: Chantix is not currently recommended for use in pregnancy as it has not been thoroughly studied. It is category c, and although many medications allowed in pregnancy fall into that category, in the case of Chantix you cannot be assured that it is a safe option during pregnancy or lactation. The nicotine patch may be an acceptable option.

Yes: This is usually used for seizures. There are associated birth defects with it. However, not taking the drug and risking a seizure while pregnant is also problematic for mother and baby. If you need to be on this medication then you should take extra Folic Acid and will need some extra vitamin K during the last month of the pregnancy. It is ok with breastfeeding.

Yes*: Halflytely is a laxative - fda class c , which means that animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug in pregnant women despite potential risks. It is commonly used after c-sections and unlikely to be of major concern given the short duration of use.

Yes: This is a combination of two medications for HIV infection. There are risks to this medication, including a risk of miscarriage. However, the benefits to mother of treating HIV and preventing progression and to baby with preventing spread of HIV are overwhelming. You should take your antiretrovirals if needed throughout pregnancy.

No estrogen: Evamist is a estrogen supplement approved for relief of menopausal symptoms, like hot flashes. Unsure why a woman in reproductive years would be using it? Nevertheless should not take it unless advised to for off label use by your doctor.
