A : A refractive cataract surgery or refractive lensectomy (removal of the natural lens before a cataract develops) can eliminate or greatly reduce myopia or nearsightedness. If there is a further change in the refractive error in the future it will very likely be a small one. It is difficult in medicine to ever promise a patient a permanent soluton, since unusual things can happen.

Yes: Refractive lensectomy should eliminate your myopia if your prescription is stable. In high myopia, there is a risk of retinal issues postoperatively which needs to be considered.
