Probably not: Try to avoid straining to urinate. Avoid spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and acid producing beverages such as oj. There may also be a strong psychological component, so try and minimize stress. The prostate may be acting up as a sign that you should "take things easy".

Prostatitis: If this is a recurring problem, it may be worthwhile to try a course of antibiotics in case there is a difficult to diagnose infection present. Avoiding spicey foods, caffeine and alcohol may avoid irritating the lower urinary tract. Discuss this issue and these suggestions with your urologist.
