Rhinoplasty : Rhinoplasty is a very challenging surgery. Results will vary depending on the level of specialty from the surgeon performing the procedure. In the last 10 yrs, or so, patients have become more knowledgable about seeking rhinoplasty specialist to perform this particular surgery. This type of surgeons, by performing more of this type of surgery, become more experienced and the chances of a good result is higher. As with any operation, there are multiple potential risks, which are beyond the scope of this forum. If you are serious about a rhinoplasty, schedule a consultation, and discuss in person with the surgeon. Otherwise you can get the general potential complications on line. Best of luck, michel siegel, md.

Low risks: Significant complications are uncommon from rhinoplasty. The most common is nausea from anesthesia and swallowed blood at surgery. Infection, redeviation, recurrence of a bump, asymmetry, nasal obstruction, loss of smell, and other complications are less common but can happen.

Low risk: Rhinoplasty surgery has a low risk of infection. More common complications are bleeding and need for additional surgery to improve the final result. It's pretty low risk. Go to someone with a lot of experience; it's a difficult procedure to perform. See my website at drgeorgepope.Com for photos.

Rhino Complications: Rhinoplasty, like any other surgery, carries a degree of risk. Fortunately, complications which affect the outcome of the surgery are very uncommon. Minor complications which do not affect the surgical outcome occasionally happen such as prolonged swelling and numbness. Patients further maximize their likelihood of a good result by following post-operative instructions carefully.
