Extracorporeal : Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ecswt)has been tested for the treatment of lateral epicondylitis and the results have been mixed. In gerneral, conservative treatment is the best first treatment- activity modification ( rest from golf), ice, stretching, wearing a band on the arm made for this condition, and physical therapy. Experimental treatments including- ecswt and injections with platlet rich plasma should be reserved for patients that have failed conservative management of longer than 4 -6 months. These treatments not been shown, conslusively, to be beneficial. Check with your physician to establish and diagnosis and work out a plan to get better- good luck.

Controversial and $: Some scattered reports it works, but most insurance companies won't pay for it b/c of no consistently proven benefit. Also the treatment can hurt like @@@@!
